About me

My name is Plamen Krushkov and I have been working in the IT field for almost two decades. I started my career at the age of 13, working part-time as a computer operator in an Internet café. The day-to-day operational tasks with end users helped me to develop strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, a stable work ethic and laid the foundation for my IT knowledge and experience.

In the meantime, I had already begun my academic career in the IT field by attending a specialized high school with a strong focus on information technology, computer science, mathematics, and English. While working on my high school diploma, I also took on various freelance projects such as web design and maintenance, building and maintaining computer configurations, and other small IT tasks.

Over time, I came to realize that open-source solutions were the closest to my own interests and mindset, which led me to explore Linux at a very early stage. After almost 10 years of studying, using, and working with it, Linux has become my preferred operating system and I feel it is the most comfortable and suitable platform for my skills and abilities.

After graduating from high school, I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Canterbury University in England. I have also completed a Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking training course and received a certificate from Cybrary.it.

In addition to working as a freelance IT professional, I have also developed a few projects of my own. I have started an online store called Dollar Shop where I sell a wide variety of household and utility products. I also built a fundraising platform based on cryptocurrency where people can donate to people or causes using bitcoin – Crypto Campaigns.

My wife and I teamed up to create a freelance marketplace that we worked on for almost two years and finally launched in 2020; it's called SpotLance and we hope it will become a useful reference point for our fellow freelancers. I was also able to play a leading role in the joint creation of the largest IRC network in Bulgaria – Bg IRC. I am also involved in a local news website, Burgas056, where my business partner and I post news, interesting stories, and beautiful photos of our hometown Burgas.

Do not hesitate to contact me for further information, project pitches, or job offers. I am always open to new challenges and exciting learning opportunities.
