About me

My name is Plamen Krushkov and I have been involved in the IT field for nearly two decades. I began my career at the age of 13, working part-time as a computer operator at an internet café. The operational day-to-day tasks with end users helped me to develop strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, a stable work ethic, and built the foundation of my IT knowledge and experience.

In the meantime, I had already begun my academic career in the IT field by attending a specialist high school with a strong focus on Information Technology, Informatics, Mathematics, and English. While working on my high school diploma, I also took on various freelance projects such as web design and maintenance, building and maintaining computer configurations and other small IT tasks.

In time, I have come to realize that open-source solutions are those closest to my own interests and mindset, which led me to begin exploring Linux at a very early stage. After studying, using, and working with it for almost 10 years, Linux has become my preferred OS and I feel it is the most comfortable and suitable platform for my skills and abilities.

After graduating from High School, I achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from the Canterbury University of England. I have also completed a Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking training course and obtained a certificate from Cybrary.it.

In addition to working as a freelance IT, I have also developed a few projects of my own. I have launched an online shop, where I sell a huge variety of products, at Dollar Shop. I have also built a fundraising platform based on Crypto Currency, where people can donate to people or causes using Bitcoin (Crypto Campaigns). My wife and I partnered up to create a freelance marketplace, which we worked on for nearly two years, and finally launched in 2020; it is called SpotLance, and we hope that it will become a useful point of reference for our colleagues in the freelance workforce. I was also able to have a leading role in the joint creation of the largest IRC network in Bulgaria – Bg IRC. I am also involved with a local news website, Burgas056, where my partner and I post news, interesting stories, and beautiful photographs of our hometown Burgas.

Do not hesitate to contact me for any further information, project pitches or job offers, I am always open to new challenges and exciting learning opportunities.
